T.J Butler,

Associate Clinician

T.J. received his Bachelors of Arts in Sociology and Music from Assumption College, his Masters

of Science in Human Services from Post University, and his Certificate of Advanced Graduate

Studies in Mental Health Counseling from Bridgewater State University. T.J. is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and is very passionate about working with transitional age youth, families, and couples, as well as the LGBTQ+ community.

 

T.J. Butler has been working with adolescents, families, and adults for over nine years in a

multitude of settings. T.J. has experience working with the foster care system, substance abuse,

and LGBTQ+ organizations. T.J. worked full time in high schools as a school-based counselor,

and most recently worked in integrated healthcare. Prior to this he was an intensive in-home

family therapist. T.J. has been doing outpatient work in some capacity for eight years.


T.J. is trained in family systems, The Attachment, Regulation and Competency (ARC) Framework

for children, adolescents and families who have experienced trauma, and Internal Family

Systems (IFS). T.J. is a facilitator in The Trauma-Center's Trauma Sensitive Yoga. T.J. is also a certified spinning instructor and often incorporates physical activity as part of treatment.  T.J.

has been a lifelong runner and enjoys road races for charities, as well as taking his dog, Rigby,

out as much as possible. In the summer, T.J. enjoys swimming, and sailing.
